About the Magazine

Since 1927, the Harvard Medical Alumni Bulletin has sought to perpetuate the history and spirit of Harvard Medical School within
its extended family of alumni, faculty, and students. The triannual magazine is published by the Harvard Medical Alumni Association.

For a brief history of the Bulletin’s design gaffes and triumphs, read “Like Shakespeare and the Bible.” Its accompanying sidebar—“The Comedy of Errors”—offers readers’ humorous responses to editorial blunders.

Since 2000 the Bulletin has won 27 national awards, including the
Robert Sibley Magazine of the Year Award from Newsweek; a
grand gold medal, seven gold medals, and six silver medals from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE; three gold medals in editorial excellence from Folio: Magazine; and three Clarion Awards in the Best Overall External Magazine category, circulation under 100,000. In 2001 the Bulletin was named a finalist for a National Magazine Award in General Excellence.
